Who we are

ConnectNYC is an internet service brand operated by Wave2Wave LLC, a New York company (“ConnectNYC,” “we,” “us”). This policy covers connectnyc.com, the website. When you become a subscriber, your service is also governed by the subscriber terms provided at sign-up.

What we collect — and what we deliberately don’t

The enhanced address checker runs in your browser. With JavaScript available, the coverage check happens on your device: the street address is not sent to us and is not put in a page URL. Your browser may keep the address in session storage for the tab session so it can prefill the building-check request; it reaches our form records only if you submit the building-check request. If JavaScript is unavailable, the checker button simply opens the building-check request page; the address you typed is not carried over and is never put in a page URL — you enter it again on that form. The request flow also keeps a little context in session storage for the tab session: your plan choice, address, property type, phone-line choice, which page you arrived on, your address-checker result, and any referral or mailer code you arrived with — so the confirmation page can show a summary and your request carries its context when you submit it. A mailer code, if present, is submitted with your form so we know which mailing led to the request; it identifies the mailing, not you. Only your referral code persists in local storage so you can share it later. Clearing your browser data removes these on-device values.

Forms you choose to submit. If you send an outside-the-UWS building review request, we collect the building address, your email, your role if you choose to give it, and an optional message. If you send a building-check request, we collect your address, unit, chosen plan, any add-ons you select (like a home phone line), name, email, phone (optional), preferred timing, how you heard about us (optional), and (optionally) a referral code — used to check the building, reply by email with the result, and — only if you proceed — schedule your install and credit referrals. If you send a property-owner inquiry, we collect the details you provide: name, email, phone (optional), building address, unit count, role, and message. If you send a business feasibility request, stage one collects the business name, address, contact name, email, broad use case, and desired timing; every further detail is optional and collected only if you choose to provide it — plan interest, static IPs, phone lines and number preference, equipment, Wi-Fi or camera needs, IT-provider details, preferred survey times, and a note about your needs. Building-check request submissions also carry a little context about your visit — the page you arrived on, whether a plan link brought you, your address-checker result, and whether you were on a phone or a computer — so we can make the building-check request flow better. No cookies, no third-party trackers. We use this information only to respond to you, arrange your service, and notify you about availability. Form submissions are processed and stored by Netlify, our hosting provider, and delivered to our team by email.

Email you send us. Messages to info@connectnyc.com or support@connectnyc.com are handled through Microsoft 365 and kept as long as needed to help you.

Standard server logs. Our hosting provider (Netlify) keeps short-lived infrastructure logs — such as IP address and browser type — for security and reliability. We may use privacy-respecting, server-side, cookie-free analytics that reports aggregate traffic only (page views, not people).

What we don’t do: no advertising trackers, no tracking cookies, no social-media pixels, no cross-site profiling, and no selling or renting of your information to anyone. Ever.

Service providers

We share information only with the providers that make this website work: Netlify, Inc. (website hosting and form processing) and Microsoft (business email). Each processes your data on our behalf under their own security and privacy commitments. One more: the interactive coverage map on our coverage page loads map tiles from CARTO/OpenStreetMap — those providers receive standard connection data (like your IP address) only when you visit that page. Everything else on this site — fonts included — is served from our own domain. We may also disclose information if the law genuinely requires it.

Retention

Form and inquiry details are kept as long as needed to review the address, handle the conversation, and maintain reasonable business records. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.

Your choices and rights

Email us at info@connectnyc.com to access, correct, or delete information you’ve given us, or to withdraw a building review request — one email does it. New York and other U.S. state residents may have additional rights under applicable law; we honor reasonable requests regardless of where you live.

Children

This site is for adults arranging internet service. We don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes

If we change this policy, we’ll update this page and its effective date. Material changes will be flagged clearly on this page.
