ConnectNYC is a privately owned, commercial internet service provider operated by Wave2Wave LLC. Service is sold directly to residents and businesses at published monthly prices.
The why
The problem was obvious. Nobody was fixing it.
If you’ve lived in New York, you know the drill. The cable bill creeps up. Uploads lag behind downloads. And when you try to leave, a retention script is waiting.
ConnectNYC began with a straightforward question: what if an internet company respected its customers? What if the price on the website matched the bill? What if you could cancel anytime — no phone call, no retention script?
The answers weren’t hypothetical. We came to the problem with experience operating internet networks — and with the same one-option bills as the neighbors we wanted to serve.
Why we exist
The buildings were serviceable. The economics ignored them.
Our operating experience made the gap plain: smaller Upper West Side buildings were not impossible to serve. The network engineering existed. Those buildings simply did not fit the incumbent rollout model.
So we built around the buildings instead. ConnectNYC grows one address at a time — and one household is all it takes. You send one building-check request; we check the address, handle the owner conversation, and can offer a site survey as soon as the next day — without using your name in that conversation unless you opt in. You are the customer, not the campaign organizer.
Then we stay with the job. We answer the building question, keep the monthly plan price fixed while service remains active on that plan, measure plan speeds against written terms, and keep support by email, handled by people, with the inbox open 24/7. The relief is simple: one company carries the work past the request and answers for the result.

Business networks, brought home.
Wave2Wave has operated internet networks since 1999, providing fixed-wireless, wireline, voice, data, hosting, and managed-network services to small and midsized businesses and deploying in-building networks in Manhattan. The date matters because the work after the promise matters: design it, install it, operate it, answer for it. ConnectNYC brings that operating discipline home to the Upper West Side — built around the small New York building that conventional rollouts treat as an exception: prewar walk-ups, brownstones, townhouses, small apartment and mixed-use buildings.

Wireless from the start.
Wave2Wave was founded in 1999 as New York City’s first wireless ISP. From its inception, the company implemented and sold fixed-wireless broadband solutions across the Northeast.
The footprint and toolkit expand.
In January, Wave2Wave acquired certain assets of Intellispace, Inc., a wireline managed service provider operating in New York, Connecticut, Philadelphia, and Chicago. The acquisition significantly expanded its footprint and product offerings.
Another operating platform joins.
Wave2Wave acquired RNK, a communications operator that had been operating since 1997.
Business networks, end to end.
Across the Northeast and Midwest, Wave2Wave provided small and midsized businesses with wired and wireless broadband, VoIP, data, hosting, point-to-point connections, managed network services, colocation, and VPNs. In Manhattan, it deployed in-building networks in multi-tenant buildings.
The operating record comes home.
ConnectNYC brings that business-network experience to Upper West Side residences: a consumer service built for the smaller buildings incumbent economics skipped.
The technology
Over the rooftops. Straight to your door.
ConnectNYC delivers internet the way the skyline suggests: rooftop to rooftop, over modern fixed wireless. No digging up streets. No waiting for a cable franchise to care.
The signal arrives at equipment on the building’s rooftop, then reaches the apartment through an in-building connection. Larger buildings usually use a self-install over existing coax. Smaller buildings get a professional dedicated line from the roof. We confirm the method after the building check; either apartment method is $150 once.
That rooftop-to-building design lets us extend the live network one qualified building at a time, without trenching the street.
The economics
What the price builds.
We hear it all the time: someone’s hunting for cheap internet, and the promo banners are happy to oblige. We get it — and cable’s first year genuinely is cheaper.
Here is what our price does instead. It supports a second network on the Upper West Side: rooftop access, in-building connections, network operations, and email support handled by people. It also supports the promises we put in writing — a plan price that stays fixed while service remains active on that plan, and a speed guarantee — without depending on a teaser-rate cycle.
One household brings us to a building; every building-check request gives us one address to evaluate. We aren’t for every budget, and we say so plainly. We’d rather be the neighborhood’s second option done right than everyone’s cheapest option done the usual way.

Building partnerships
Good for building owners, too.
We install rooftop equipment that gives residents another internet option. We pay for the survey and installation; under the agreement, one building/management-use connection is included at no charge, plus common-area Wi-Fi where an interior common area exists.
A site survey establishes the rooftop footprint, power needs, and in-building route before work begins. Larger buildings usually use existing coax; smaller buildings use a dedicated line from the roof. We coordinate access and the installation method with building management.
The bill is the bill. This year, next year — while you keep the plan.
