Accessibility
A usable site. A human way around it.
The web has edges. If you hit one here, tell us. We will treat the barrier as a priority and help you finish what you came to do.
The standard we work to
We work to meet WCAG 2.2 AA — the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines, version 2.2, at Level AA. That is a target and an ongoing practice, not a claim that every page will work perfectly in every combination of browser, device, and assistive technology.
Your accessibility contact
Our designated accessibility contact is the ConnectNYC support team — a role, not one person’s inbox. Email support@connectnyc.com at any hour. Support is available 24/7 and the reply comes from a human.
Report a barrier
Email support@connectnyc.com and tell us what you were trying to do, which page gave you trouble, and what happened. If you want to include your browser, device, assistive technology, or the words of an error message, that can help, but it is not required.
An accessibility report is treated as a priority issue, not a routine support ticket. We will investigate the barrier and either fix it or provide another way to do the same thing.
Another route to the same place
If you cannot use the signup form, the address checker, or any other site flow, you can complete the identical action by email at support@connectnyc.com; a human will do it with you.
That includes checking an address, confirming coverage, joining the waitlist, signing up for residential or business service, requesting property-owner information, checking network status, and making a support request. You do not have to make the website cooperate before we will help.
What is in place
- Site controls and flows are operable by keyboard, with visible focus as you move.
- The coverage map and network-status information have text alternatives, so the information is not available only through a graphic or colour.
- Reduced-motion preferences are honoured.
- Form errors are announced and written in plain language.
- Colour contrast meets Level AA thresholds.
Where this can fall short
Accessibility is continuous work. A content or code change can introduce a defect after an earlier check passed, and no fixed statement can account for every real-world setup. Reports from people using the site are one of the ways we find those defects. If something does not work for you, please tell the ConnectNYC support team at support@connectnyc.com.
