Network Engineer (fixed wireless).
You run the network: Tarana fixed-wireless radios, Juniper switching and routing, BGP and our own IP space, leased dark fiber we light ourselves, capacity planning, and an on-call rotation. ConnectNYC is operated by Wave2Wave LLC of Jericho, NY, a New York City wireless ISP founded in 1999, serving Upper West Side buildings from W 57th to 110th Street. This is a full-time, W-2 salaried, exempt position paying $70,000-$110,000 per year; the work is hybrid across Upper West Side sites, the Jericho, NY office, and remote, and you report to a New York supervisor.

What you do
- Configure and maintain Tarana fixed-wireless radios on rooftops and inside buildings.
- Build and troubleshoot Juniper switching and routing across the network.
- Manage BGP sessions, upstream transit, and our IP space.
- Turn up and monitor leased dark fiber that we light ourselves.
- Plan capacity ahead of demand and track how sites and links perform over time.
- Diagnose outages and degraded links, take a turn in the on-call rotation, and carry fixes through to the end.
What you bring
- Configure Juniper switches and routers from the command line.
- Run BGP: bring up peering, read a routing table, and find why a prefix is not where it should be.
- Plan and manage IPv4 and IPv6 addressing for a production network.
- Work on rooftops and in building risers, including ladder and hand-tool work in weather.
- Troubleshoot a live network under pressure and explain afterward what happened.
Schedule
Full-time, Monday through Friday during business hours, with a shared on-call rotation covering nights and weekends. Site work is scheduled during the day; outages are handled when they happen.
