Field Installation Technician (Upper West Side).
This is hands-on install work on roofs and ladders, outdoors, in all weather. You mount radios on Upper West Side rooftops, run cable down to the apartment, terminate it, and test the line before you leave. The work is on the Upper West Side in Manhattan, with an equipment depot in Jericho, NY. ConnectNYC is operated by Wave2Wave LLC, a New York City wireless internet provider founded in 1999. The job is a W-2 hourly position, non-exempt, paid weekly, at $20.00–$32.00 per hour.

What you do
- Mount and align rooftop radios and antennas.
- Run cable from the roof to the apartment, through risers, hallways, and shafts.
- Terminate and dress cable, and mount routers and switches inside the unit.
- Test each line and confirm the connection works before leaving.
- Set up the router in the unit and show the customer how it works.
- Return to buildings for repairs, replacements, and follow-up visits.
- Pick up gear and drop off returns at the equipment depot in Jericho, NY.
What you bring
- Work on ladders and rooftops at height, outdoors, year round.
- Lift and carry equipment and cable up stairs and through tight spaces.
- Terminate cable and use hand and power tools accurately.
- Read a signal reading and troubleshoot a connection that is not working.
- Speak plainly with residents and building staff.
Schedule
Full-time or part-time, weekdays, with some Saturday appointments. Installs run during daytime and early evening hours, and overtime is paid after 40 hours in a week.
