Careers
Field Installation Supervisor (Upper West Side).
Every install is a one-off on a prewar roof, and the crew doing them is small. The supervisor decides the order of the day, checks the work, and takes the hard building personally. You schedule the technicians, make sure each kit leaves Jericho complete, walk the roof when the first radio on a new building goes up, and step in when a link will not come up. This is a working supervisor’s job: you install on your own days, and you answer for the installs you did not do. If you want to manage from a desk, this is the wrong job.

Upper West Side, Manhattan; equipment depot in Jericho, NY · Full-time · W-2 hourly employee · non-exempt, overtime after 40 hours · paid weekly
Pay: $26.00–$34.00 per hour
What you do
- Plan each install day: which technician goes to which building, in what order, with what equipment.
- Do the first install on every new building yourself or alongside the technician, so the mount, the route, and the numbers set the standard for that roof.
- Inspect finished work — mount, weatherproofing, cable dressing, in-unit setup — and send it back when it is not right.
- Train new technicians on ladders, roofs, cable routes, and how to talk to building staff and residents.
- Keep safety at height non-negotiable: harnesses, ladder setup, weather calls. You make the call to stop.
- Coordinate with the Jericho depot so kits go out complete and returns come back tagged.
- Take the callbacks nobody else could close, and turn what you learn into how the next install is done.
What you bring
- Several years installing fixed-wireless, cable, or similar rooftop and in-building work in New York City, some of it leading others.
- Work at height on ladders and rooftops, outdoors, in every season, and carry equipment up walk-up stairs.
- Read signal numbers, diagnose a link that will not hold, and explain the fix to a technician so they can do it next time.
- Schedule a crew against a calendar of appointments, and reshuffle it the same morning when a building cancels.
- Hold a standard with people you like. The install is not done because the technician says so.
- Speak plainly with residents, supers, and managing agents, and leave them willing to let you back in the building.
What success looks like
- Installs go out complete and come back finished. Callbacks drop because the first visit was right.
- A new technician can do a clean walk-up install alone within their first weeks because you trained them on real roofs.
- Every roof you approved would pass a stranger’s inspection a year later.
- The schedule holds. When it breaks, customers hear from us before they notice.
Schedule
Full-time, Monday through Friday, daytime and early evening, with some Saturday appointments. Overtime is paid after 40 hours in a week. Field days on the Upper West Side; depot time in Jericho as needed.
